Cross-Sectoral Assessment Of The Energy-Forestry Nexus, In The Context Of Albania´s Climate Mitigation And Green
The project involves a cross-sectoral assessment of the energy-forestry nexus in Albania, in the context of the country’s climate mitigation and Green Recovery efforts. It addresses the urgent global need for green and resilient economies, particularly in the aftermath of COVID-19. The project aligns with Albania’s revised Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and international commitments like the Glasgow Leaders Declaration on Forests and Land Use. It is tailored to analyze and improve sustainable forest management and efficient fuelwood consumption in Albania, contributing to the mitigation of climate change impacts.
The initiative is in response to the need for enhanced forest biomass utilization and promotion of bio-energy technology applications. The objective is to foster economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
