Enhancement of the Existing Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)
The main achievement of this project was the evaluation of the national energy efficiency potential for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions over the time period 2016-2031, providing the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy with alternative and additional policies and measures for the enhancement of the existing Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 2015), in line with the requirements of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement.
The evaluation is supported by the assessment of the state of implementation and alignment of the current national strategic documents related to climate change and energy efficiency, on which basis further recommendations are provided for the improvement of the national process for climate change in the mid-term period.
